Program Information

To enroll:

 

- All students must be 16 years old

- Must possess an Official New York State Leaner's Permit or Junior License prior to registration.

The cost of the program is $500. The full amount is required with the completed application no later than Friday, January 19, 2024 by 10:00 AM. Payment must be made through MySchoolBucks.

 

No refunds will be honored after January 29, 2024.

Lecture classes will be in person with live teaching, videos and guest speakers. Classes are not credit bearing and will meet once a week at school. If you miss your class time, a makeup must be completed ASAP. Book work will be assigned and must be handed in by assigned date to count. Late assignments will lose points for each day late. After a week late, it will result in a zero for that assignment. Students must maintain an average of 65 of better to pass the course. All work must be completed regardless of grade. Attendance is mandatory so arriving late or leaving early is not permitted and will affect your attendance grade.

Students will drive and observe once a week for 90 minutes each class. Vehicles will be leaving school grounds promptly and therefore lateness will not be permitted. The use of electronic devices is prohibited throughout the driving session. Tips/videos for teaching and practicing skills will be available.

All applications must be submitted to the Comsewogue High School Main Office by 10:00 AM on January 19, 2024 to be considered for the program. Students are enrolled on a first come, first serve basis. If mailing your application, please remember to leave extra time so school receives it before the deadline. We are not responsible if received late.

 

Applications are to be filled out in its entirety and include:

1. A clear copy of the student's New York State Official Learner's Permit or Junior License (Front Only)

2. Signed Parent Consent Form (part of this digital packet)

3. Application (part of this digital packet) with payment submitted through MySchoolBucks

 

Registration is done as applications are submitted. Once the maximum number of studnets have been reached, classes will be closed. No exceptions!

 

Any outside conflicts are the student's responsibility to work out, not the Driver's Education Program.
