Driving to school and parking in the student parking lot is a privilege that is extended to seniors (Grade 12) who are in "good standing" at Comsewogue High School. As with any privilege, there are responsibilities that accompany driving and parking privileges. Parking in the student lot is contingent upon:
GOOD ATTENDANCE: Students who arrive late to school will lose their parking privileges. Seven (7) unexcused absences in any quarter will result in parking priviliges being revoked, and an appeal will need to be completed in order to gain parking privileges back.
SAFE DRIVING: Students who drive in an unsafe manner or who do not follow directions of the security staff will lose their parking privileges.
GOOD BEHAVIOR: All students are expected to comply with the Comsewogue High School Code of Conduct as written in the
Student Handbook. Comsewogue High School is a "closed campus" and as such students who leave campus without permission will lose their parking privileges as well as face additional disciplinary action.
In order to register your car to park in the student parking lot, you must:
1. Possess a valid New York State Senior Driver's License.
Under no circumstances may a student drive to school with a learner's permit or a junior license. It is against the law. You must have, in your possession, a Class D New York State Driver's License. Visit this page for specific details.
2. Show valid proof of insurance.
3. Show a valid vehicle registration.
